Municipal Code Update Underway
The Village of Brinkhaven is in the process of updating and reorganizing its municipal code to improve clarity, consistency, and alignment with current Ohio law. Updates will be shared as the work progresses.
Greenhaven Community Garden
The Village of Brinkhaven has applied for a grant to help establish Greenhaven, a proposed community garden. If awarded, the grant would support local food access, education, and community use. Updates will be shared as the process continues.
Historical Establishment Date Recognized
Village Council has adopted Resolution 2026-3 recognizing 1838 as the historical establishment date of the community now known as Brinkhaven. The settlement was first mapped as Mt. Holley in 1838, later incorporated as Gann in 1872, then incorporated and renamed Brinkhaven in 1892.
This resolution is commemorative and educational only and does not change Brinkhaven’s legal incorporation date or municipal status. It ensures the Village’s history is represented accurately and honors the full progression of the community that shaped Brinkhaven as we are today.
